Sunrise Cinical Manager, the new on-line patient data and lab ordering system is up and running. Dr. Michael Oppenheim and his Computer and Information Science (CIS) team have worked diligently to bring the newest information system to LIJ. It is quite good, and it is accessible from the hospital and from home and office via RAP.

Currently, as outlined below, the system is up and running for looking up clinical labs and for placing lab and xray orders. The schedule for implementation is as follows in four phases:

Phase 1 is implemented at LIJ, SCH, Hillside, and iPark. It is an intuitive graphically based system. It is superb at looking at a census of patients in lists, by personal doctor, consultants, or by physician groups. Available are lab results, pathology, opnotes, other documents, radiology reports, and cardiograms. Graphical results and trend analysis is available. PACS (radiology imaging) is available as an option. Order entry for laboratory and radiology tests is present.
